Misal Pav Recipe
Description
Maharashtrian misal — spicy sprouts curry topped with farsan, onions and lemon, served with hot Super Pav. A wholesome breakfast or evening street snack.
Ingredients 14 items
- 2 cups mixed sprouts (moth/moong)
- 2 onions (chopped)
- 2 tomatoes (pureed)
- 2 tbsp goda/misal masala
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- ½ tsp turmeric
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 2 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste
- 1 cup farsan/mixture
- 1 onion (chopped, raw)
- 1 lemon (wedges)
- Coriander
- 4 Super Pav
Instructions 6 steps
- Pressure cook sprouts till soft - 3 whistles. Set aside.
- Heat oil, saute onions golden. Add ginger-garlic paste.
- Add tomato puree, misal masala, chilli, turmeric. Cook till oil separates.
- Add cooked sprouts and water. Simmer 8-10 minutes.
- Ladle hot misal into bowls. Top with raw onion, farsan, lemon and coriander.
- Serve with warmed Super Pav.
